Pamela Ruth McCammon, 60, of Sullivan, passed away on Monday June 19, 2017 at Sullivan County Community Hospital of cancer with family and friends by her side. She was born November 20, 1956 to Odie and Helen Jones. She was a graduate of Red Hill High school, Bridgeport IL; McKendree College with a batcher’s degree in English and counseling and Indiana State University, Terre Haute IN. MS speech language pathology, ASHA certified with a preference in Dysphagia, modified Barium Swallows Cognitive Rehabilitation. She was fluent in both American Sign Language and signed exact English. She put on presentations entitled Dysphagia in 3D in the Mid-West. She was licensed in IL and IN, for teaching and speech language pathology. She had worked in both hospital and school settings. She loved to travel out west and spending time in flagstaff AZ and the Grand Canyon.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years J Mark McCammon, sister Marcia (Don) Seibert of FL; brother in-law Ray (Trudi) McCammon of New Lebanon; nephews Bryan Seibert, Jade McCammon, Preston McCammon, Rayce McCammon and Bubbi Lucas; nieces Amy Seibert, and Tanisha Landis. She loved spoiling her great nieces and nephews. Jaylen, Spenser, and Emmett McCammon, Rayna McCammon, Cammon Landis, Aiden and Boyd Lucas. Also surviving special friends Alita Courliene and family, Teresa Wagner, special cousins Colleen and Wendy.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws Billy Joe and Lois McCammon.
Per her request, she was cremated, there were no services. If friends so desire, memorial contributions in her memory can be made to the Brown Baggers in care of Kay Brewer, 7982 N CR 105 E Shelburn IN, 47879. Holmes Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
