Rick G. Nichols of Graysville, raced his final race to Heavens gates on March 6, 2024 at Methodist hospital with his loving family by his side. Rick entered into the world on July 24,1947 to Forrest and JoAnn Hogg Nichols. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School Class of 1965. Upon graduation he joined the United States Army, where he served his country with pride and distinction. He and Patricia Cassell were married on May 27,1969, sharing 54 years of loving life together. Rick retired with 33 years of dedicated service to Hoosier Energy.
Rick, a former drag racer and car enthusiast who not only had a passion for old cars, also enjoyed the mechanical side tinkering, attending car shows and making many friends over the years.
Rick and Patricia made many memories traveling on their Honda Gold Wing, camping and taking “off the beaten path” highways to see all the States with exception of Alaska and Hawaii. Rick was a deeply devoted family man and friend, he was a "what you see is what you get" person, with loyalty and endless love to those he cherished. His greatest joys were his children, grandchildren and great- grandchild. He cherished every second spent with family building lasting memories.
Those gone before him are his parents, along with siblings, Linda Criss and Marcy Nichols.
Loved ones left to cherish lifetime memories are his loving wife, Patricia; children, Rachael and Andrew Bordenet and Ben and Kyla Nichols; brother, Steve and Helen Nichols; sisters, Judy and Buddy Boyer along with Lisa and Paul Chilton; grandchildren, Shaelie and Brandon Fidler and Braedon Nichols and great-grandchild, Sawyer Fidler.
Services will be graveside on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 1 pm. at Pogue Cemetery, Fairbanks IN. with Reverend Don Ransford officiating. Holmes Memorial Chapel were honored to assist the family with arrangements.
